چکیده
Background. Lessons learned during the developme f a novel hybrid approach have resulted in a reli eproducible alternative treatment for hypoplastic l eart syndrome (HLHS). Herein we report our res sing this hybrid approach in a uniform risk cohort Methods. This is a review of prospectively collec ata on patients treated for HLHS using a hybrid roach (n 40) between July 2002 and June 2007. T ybrid approach includes pulmonary artery bands, uctal stent, and atrial septostomy as a neonate, com ensive stage 2 procedure resulting in Glenn sh hysiology at six months and Fontan completion at ears. Results. Forty patients had a hybrid stage 1 with ndergoing a comprehensive stage 2 procedure. Fifte atients have completed the Fontan procedure with ending. Overall survival was 82.5% (33 of 40).
